A stainless steel filler rod used in GTAW welding process used for joining stainless steels of 18Cr/8Ni/ELC and 18Cr/8Ni/Nb types for service up to 350 Deg C, also approved for the use of cryogenic temperatures down to 4 deg K (-269 Deg C)
ER308L has a good resistance to general corrosion and due to its low carbon content, good resistance to intercrystalline corrosion. It also has good resistance to oxidizing agents.
Widely used to weld 304 & 304L Plate
Can also be used on 301, 302, 304, 305 and cast alloys CF-8 & CF-3.
