4047 is an Aluminium Tig wire with 12% Si content. The extra Si content adds to the fluidity (Wetting action) during welding operation. More desirable welding characteristics than 4043 on thinner materials or where leak tight joints are required. This rods characteristics improve on production time and give a better weld appearance on thinner materials with exceptionally smooth welds.
Weld surface cleaning and preparation is essential when using 4047 and the weld area turns a light grey when anodizing.
